You can set the transparency of layers to reduce the visibility of objects on specific layers and thus improve the visualization of drawings.
To set the transparency of a layer

Open the Layer Setup dialog box in one of the following ways:

If the layer and view bar is displayed, click the button on the bar.

Choose the Layer and Views command in the Settings menu.

In the View pane, select the layer. The layer properties are shown in the Properties pane.

Set the option Use the styles defined in the layer to No.
Click the Layer styles tab.
Set the transparency of the layer.

Changes made to layer settings can be undone by selecting the Cancel layer management command from the Modify menu. |
