In the layer and view bar, there are two list boxes and five command buttons.
In the Views box, the name of the current view is displayed. Clicking on it displays the list of views belonging to the current page. To make a particular view active, select it from the list.
In the Layer list box, the name of the current drawing layer is displayed. Clicking on it displays the list of drawing layers that belong to the document. To make a particular drawing layer active, select it from the list.
To manage views and layers
Open the Layer Setup dialog box in one of the following ways:
- If the View and Layer Bar is displayed, click the button on the Layer Bar.
- Choose the Layers and Views command in the Settings menu.
To change the current view
To change the current view, the layer and view bar must be displayed.
- If the view bar is displayed, choose the view in the view list box.
To set the active layer
To set the active layer, the layer and view bar must be displayed.
- If the layer bar is displayed, choose the layer in the layer list box. If the selected layer is not available in the current view, the optimal view for the layer will be displayed.
To hide/show the active layer
This command affects the active layer in the current view. Do one of the following:
- If the View and Layer Bar is displayed, click the button on the Layer Bar.
- Choose the Show/Hide layer command in the Show menu.
To lock/unlock the active layer
This command affects the active layer in the current view. Do one of the following:
- If the view and layer bar is displayed, click the button on the layer bar.
- Choose the Lock/unlock layer command in the Show menu.
To bring the layer to the front
This command affects the active layer in the current view. Do one of the following:
- Select the layer in the layers box and click the button on the layer bar.
- Choose the Bring to the front command in the Show menu.
To make a layer transparent or opaque
This command affects the active layer in the current view. Do one of the following:
- Select the layer in the layers box and click the button on the layer bar.
- Choose the Transparent/Opaque layer command in the Show menu.
