When drawing a symbol or footprint it is very important to specify its point of origin by means of an object Hotspot. The origin point is useful for the correct alignment of the symbol when it is placed in the drawing. While drawing the symbol, you can use the Hotspot object to set the origin of the reference system.
To set the coordinate origin using the hotspot
Add a Hotspot object to the center of the frame to specify the origin point, or insertion point, of the symbol. See To add a hotspot.
Select the Hotspot object.
Right-click to open the menu and choose the Set origin by Hotspot command. The origin of the coordinate system is placed in the center of the Hotspot.
