Linear traces are defined by two points: a start point and an end point.
Track
In this dialog box, the coordinates of the line ends can be specified in different ways.
Start point
Specify the coordinates of the point where the track begins.
End point
Specify the coordinates of the point where the path ends. The coordinates of the second endpoint of the path can be specified as follows:
- In absolute coordinates
-
Specify the horizontal position in the X box and the vertical position in the Y box.
- In coordinates relative to the starting point
-
Specify the distance of the endpoint of the track from the start point in the fields Dx and Dy.
- In polar coordinates from the starting point
-
Specify the path length and the angle it forms with respect to the x-axis in the fields Segment length and Angle.
Net
If the Auto check box is checked, the track is inserted into the connection determined by the other objects it is in contact with. Unless you want to explicitly assign a connection to the track, select the Auto checkbox. If not, clear the Auto checkbox and select the connection.
Options
- Fixed for router
-
If this option is enabled, the router will not be able to edit or remove the track.
Style
Select the track style from the proposed list or create a new style.
Serpentine
You can adjust the length of the track by creating a serpentine based on the specified values.
The length of the track and that of the entire branch to which the track belongs is shown. Set the parameters to adjust the length.
The length of the track can also be adjusted by manually inserting meanders into the track. See To adjust the length of the track without changing the position of the ends.
