A page containing technical documentation can be linked to a symbol. The documentation may reside on a remote server or on the computer disk.
The website address or file name must be specified in the internal attribute ObjDoc or in the field Datasheet link in the Component properties dialog box.
Note: |
---|
If no value is specified for the ObjDoc attribute, the default string specified in Application properties » Environment » Documentation » Default datasheet link is used. To set the default string value choose the command Settings » Application properties or press the key combination CTRL+ALT+A, open the Environment group and click on Documentation. |
Documentation on a remote server
If the documentation resides on a remote server, its internet address must be specified. An Internet address must start with one of the following prefixes:
http://
https://
www.
www.ti.com
http://www.diodes.com/_files/datasheets/ds30253.pdf
For symbols and devices it is possible to include the value in the address string by specifying the code %$.
http://focus.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/%$.pdf
Documentation in a file on the computer
If the documentation resides on the local computer, the file name must be specified. If the file name does not contain the full path, it is searched in the following order:
In the current Job;
In the current Job folder;
In the component library file;
In the user's folders;
In the folders of the application;
If the file name has no extension, the extension .chm is added. To file names of type .chm, you can hang the name of the page you want to display by separating it with ::/ or the name of the word to search by separating it with ::\. If the page name is not specified, default.htm is used. If the page name has no extension, the extension .htm is added.
