Use this dialog when you need to have precise control over the placement of a single object or group of objects. You can align objects with each other and with parts of the drawing page, such as the center, edges, and grid. If you align objects with other objects, you can align them at the center or at the edges.

Horizontal alignment

Specify the type of horizontal alignment. Alignment is defined by specifying the point to be aligned and the horizontal reference point to be aligned.

Point to which align

No alignment

Horizontal alignment does not have to be performed.

Horizontal alignment is performed at the left edge of the object to be aligned.

At the center of the object to be aligned

Horizontal alignment is performed at the center of the object to be aligned.

To the right of the object to be aligned

Horizontal alignment is performed at the right edge of the object to be aligned.

At the point of origin of the object to be aligned

Horizontal alignment is performed at the origin point (hotspot) of the object to be aligned.

Point to align

Left edge of object

Each individual object of the selection is moved so that the left edge of the object is brought to the alignment point.

Center of the object

Each individual object in the selection is moved so that the center of the object is brought to the alignment point.

Right edge of object

Right edge of the object detected by the reference point

The symbol is used to indicate the reference object. The selection is moved so that the right edge of the indicated object falls on the alignment point.

At the point of origin of the object indicated by the reference point

The symbol is used to indicate the reference object. The selection is moved so that the origin point (hotspot) of the indicated object falls on the alignment point.

Vertical alignment

Specify the type of vertical alignment. Alignment is defined by specifying the point to be aligned and the vertical reference point to be aligned.

Point to which align

No alignment

Vertical alignment must not be performed.

Bottom of selection box

Vertical alignment is performed at the lower edge of the selection rectangle.

In the middle of the selection box

Vertical alignment is performed at the center of the selection rectangle.

High of selection box

Vertical alignment is performed at the top edge of the selection rectangle.

At selection reference point

Vertical alignment is performed at the coordinates identified by the symbol indicating the reference point of the selection.

Bottom of the object detected by the reference point

The symbol is used to indicate the reference object. Vertical alignment is performed at the lower edge of the indicated object.

Within the middle of the object detected by the reference point

The symbol is used to indicate the reference object. Vertical alignment is performed at the center point of the indicated object.

At the top of the object detected by the reference point

The symbol is used to indicate the reference object. Vertical alignment is performed at the top edge of the indicated object.

At the origin point of the object located by the reference point

The symbol is used to indicate the reference object. Vertical alignment is performed at the origin point (hotspot) of the indicated object.

At the bottom edge of the page

Vertical alignment is performed at the bottom edge of the page.

Center of the page

Vertical alignment is performed in the middle of the page.

At the top edge of the page

Vertical alignment is performed at the top edge of the page.

Bottom of the object to be aligned

Vertical alignment is performed at the lower edge of the object to be aligned.

In the middle of the object to be aligned

Vertical alignment is performed at the center of the object to be aligned.

At the top of the object to be aligned

Vertical alignment is performed at the top edge of the object to be aligned.

At the point of origin of the object to be aligned

Horizontal alignment is performed at the origin point (hotspot) of the object to be aligned.

Align to grid

Check this box to center the alignment point on the grid.

To align the origin point of an object with the grid

Do the following:

  1. Select At the origin point of the object to be aligned as the point to be aligned.

  2. Select Point of origin of the object as the point to be aligned.

  3. Check the Align to grid box.
